Belgrade, Nebraska, September 26, 1900
During the thunder shower of Saturday morning lightning struck the oat stacks of A. Kuykendall four miles south of here, setting them on fire.
Prompt work of tearing down the stacks, assisted by the drenching rain that was fallings, soon extinguished the fire and saved most of the grain from destruction.
