LADY ROSA BARNES, the beloved wife of Reverend Wiley Barnes, was born in Lucama, Wilson County, North Carolina.
Lady Rosa was educated in the Wilson County Public School System. After completing High School, Lady Rosa met and married Reverend Wiley Barnes. Their union was blessed with three sons and six daughters. Lady Rosa later relocated to Baltimore, Maryland with her family.
Lady Rosa was a loving devoted wife and mother, always made sure her family needs were in order at their home. Lady Rosa was a Christian Women, reared her children in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lady Rosa was indeed a Reverend's Wife, possessing many wonderful characteristics; patience, tolerance, faith, love and devotion. Lady Rosa shared the many responsibilities of her husband's Pastoral-ship in the Church. Lady Rosa worked side-by-side with the members of the Church to organize The Ushers Board Units, The Church Senior and Junior Choir, The Woman's Council and The Sick Committee. Lady Rosa was an Honorary Member of all the Auxilliaries in The Church. Lady Rosa supported The Church financial needs when The Church was in its infancy. Lady Rosa was a member of The St. Marks Pentecostal Church for many of years, until her health begin to fail. Lady Rosa was full of love, compassion and wisdom. She loved to encourage family members, friends and people to stand strong in The Lord Jesus Christ and to continue to do their best. Lady Rosa was loved by all who knew her and Lady Rosa will be sincerely missed by everyone that loved and knew her.
Preceded Lady Rosa in death were two sons: Donald Ray Barnes and Brumfield Alonzo Barnes; one daughter: Kellee Wright Barnes.
Lady Rosa leaves to celebrate her everlasting memories: her devoted husband~ Reverend Wiley Barnes; her son~ Wiley Barnes Jr.; her five daughters~ Franchester James, Michelle Jackson, Bernice Scott, Margaret Glover and Cynthia Carter; daughter-in-law, sons-in-law; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
