The first Board Certified African American surgeon serving all areas of Sacramento, West Sacramento and Folsom passed away on October 30, 2005.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Inez; his four children who all became physicians, Dr. Carlton Z. Adams Jr. (Phyllis), Dr. Cheryl Adams-Remson (Anthony), Dr. Anne Marie Adams (Ayalew Mergia) and Dr. Kathy L. Adams-Berry (Dana); brothers Samuel Adams Sr. (Elenora), Curtis Adams (Jean) and Deleavis Johnson (Anna); sisters Ola Adams and Dorothy Adams-Peck; seven grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, a brother, brother-in-law and two nephews.
Interment Calvary Cemetery.
