COLUMBIA — Private graveside service for Frances W. Reich, 87, will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Washington Street United Methodist Church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Reich, wife of the late Graham C. Reich, Sr., died Saturday, January 08, 2005. Born in Greensboro, N.C., she was a daughter of the late William Hugh Womble and Alice Armstrong Womble. She received a B.S. degree in Institutional Management from UNC Greensboro and became a registered dietitian after an internship at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. She was the head dietitian at a hospital in Richmond, Va. She was a professional grade 4 in the federal government, worked at Arlington Hall during WW II, and was a cryptographer in the signal corps of military intelligence.

Mrs. Reich was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church where she served for many years as a supervisor of the primary department for children. She served on the local board of the Girl Scouts of America.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Graham C., Jr. and Susanne Satterwhite Reich of Columbia; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine R. and Robert D. Coleman of Columbia; sister, Alice Womble Thomason of Greensboro, N.C.; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Victoria Tibshrany.
