Harlan C. Andersen was born on April 22, 1927 on the Andersen farm north of Badger to Severt and Hertha (Peterson) Andersen. He attended country school at District 16 and graduated from Lake Norden High School in1945. On February 23, 1947 he married Darlene R. Rovang at Bryant, SD. The couple farmed in the Badger area and raised their family. His wife died on July 3, 2002. He was a member of the National Farmers Organization, was charter member of the Badger Riders Horse Club and the Badger Lutheran Church. Harlan enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving and riding horses.
Harlan is survived by his children; Greg, Celeste, Patrece and Harla Rae; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mr. Andersen will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Badger American Legion Hall in Badger, SD
