Doris Marie McMullen
September 6, 1927 - December 26, 2013
Doris Marie McMullen, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2013 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. She was born in St. George, Pottawatomie County, Kansas to her parents, the late Ira and Jennie (Scott) Haber on September 6, 1927.
She lived her childhood in Kansas then moved with her family to Arizona in 1945. She resided in Phoenix and worked for Mtn. States Telephone Company for 13 years and she assisted in Special Education classes for 7 years. Doris met and married her loving husband, Austin McMullen, in 1950. They had 3 wonderful sons but had the misfortune of losing 2 of them, Mark and Paul.
Doris and Austin moved to Show Low in 1984 and became very active in their community and church. Doris was a very devout Christian and did many things in her life for the Lord and her church. Most of all she loved teaching Sunday school and working with children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Show Low.
She is survived by her loving son, David and Stephanie; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Amy and Eugene; 10 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Dorothy Ashley and her younger brother, Bob Haber.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Austin and sons, Paul Craig and Mark Allen; sisters, Blanche, Hazel, Betty, Bernice and her brother, Calvin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Thursday January 2, 2014 at the Owens Livingston Mortuary~ White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St., Show Low, Arizona with a visitation 1 hour prior to services.
Interment will follow in the Show Low Cemetery.
