Mrs. Minnie Lavina Boltz, 79, formerly of Quincy and widow of William Leonard Boltz, died Monday afternoon at 3 in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Calhoun near Maywood, Mo.
Mrs. Boltz was born near Colony, Mo., Dec 31, 1882, a daughter of William and Christina Cassidy Goodwin. She was married to Mr. Boltz May 23, 1900, in Edina, Mo. They lived in Knox county, Mo. until they located here in 1948. Mr Boltz died March 22, 1957, and since then Mrs. Boltz had lived with a son Robert, in Quincy and the daughter in Edina.
Surviving are five sons, Robert, Kenneth and Dale of Quincy, Paul of St. Louis, Mo., and Herbert of Davenport la.; seven daughters,Mrs. Nelson (Leona) Kapfer of Baring, Mo., Mrs. Dan (Hazel) Parrish of Gainesville, Tex., Mrs. Earl (Gladys) Jarvis of Joliet, Mrs. Anthony (Helen) Jungman of St. Louis, Mrs. Edna Calhoun of May wood, Mrs. H. G. (Ann) Waechter and Mrs. Harold (Mary) Piner, both of Quincy; two sisters, Mrs. A. D. (Alice) Smith and Mrs. Lillie Gum, both of Quincy; three brothers, Charles, George and Porter Goodwin of Quincy; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son Howard, was killed in World war II.
