OBITUARY
MRS. ADA McCABE
Ada Lane was the child of Albert and Johanna Stephens was born in Platteville, Aug. 21, 1851. Her life was spent, nearly all of it here at Platteville, except rather short time spent in Ohio. Her mother died when Ada was a year and a half old, leaving a sister, Louella, 8 days old. The two children were cared for by relatives. She was married to John McCabe, March 2, 1879. They had just one child, Clyde, to whom Mrs. McCabe was devoted. Mr. McCabe lived some, years after Clyde, but the going of both left her alone and with a sorrow very great she bore up well. Her last sickness was of short duration She passed away Monday, March 7th. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Joseph Graham of Muscoda, and a number of cousins. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, March 10th, 1932, at the Gaal-Haudenshield funeral home conducted by her paster, Robert F. Merritt, of the Congregational church. Mrs. McCabe was one of the oldest members of this church, having joined the church Feb. 24, 1878. The body was laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
