Sarah 'Sally',maiden name is unknown.(She is definitely NOT Sarah Reid). She married William Lewis about 1794. They lived near South Indian Creek, a tributary of the Nolichucky River in Greasy Cove, Washington Co., Tennessee. This area is now part of Unicoi Co., Tennessee. Sarah was the second wife of William Lewis, and they had six known children. The names of their children were Lucretia, (name from oral history only), born circa 1794, Elizabeth "Betsy", born 1795, Benjamin, born 1798, Hiram, born 1800, Russell, born 1804 and Kissiah, born 1807. All were born in Greasy Cove, Washington Co., Tennessee.
William Lewis moved to Middle Tennessee, to the Cedar Creek area of White Co., TN in 1810-1811.
There are no records of Sarah 'Sally' Lewis except for her being mentioned in William Lewis's Will in 1838 and the census records for White Co., Tennessee.
It is believed that she is buried in the Pollard-Norris Cemetery, in an unmarked 'Tent' type grave, along with William Lewis and her daughter-in-law Charity Lewis, wife of her son Benjamin Lewis. After William Lewis died in 1838, Benjamin looked after his mother until her death in Nov 1850.
