Mother of Mrs. Gregory Is Dead
Mrs. Jennie L. Abbott, of Meriden, Conn., mother of Mrs. Gregory, died Christmas Eve at the home of her daughter on W. Washington St., after a weeks illness.
Mrs. Abbott was born in Warren, Conn., June 8, 1846, and had been a life-long resident of the state of Connecticut.
During the last 35 years she had been a resident of Meriden, Conn., where she was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Rebekahs. She had spent several months each year with her daughter in Painesville and had made many friends here.
Mrs. Abbott was always kindly disposed toward others and her quiet life will always be an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. She was a delightful companion, firm in her friendship-a woman of sterling worth, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by one son, E. E. Gibson, of Meriden, Conn. and a daughter, Mrs. R. E. Gregory of Painesville and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held from the Gregory home, 50 West Washington St., on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
