Mrs. Phoebe Elizabeth Barnard Baskin, 92, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Patrick County, VA on December 20, 1928 to the late William Charlie and Sally Ellen Bowman Barnard.

Mrs. Baskin retired from Sara Lee after over 40 years of employment, and a faithful member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Sue and Richard Emily; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sonya Baskin; six grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Sylvia Large, Jessie and Wayne Hairfield; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baskin was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Baskin; daughters, Elizabeth Baskin, and Brenda Jo Baskin; sons, George Perry Baskin, Joseph “Joe” Baskin, Jerry Franklin Baskin; sisters, Violet Midkiff, Lucille Callahan, Malzy Hicks, Oma Lee Hawks; a brother, Benny Barnard.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayburn Mosley, and the Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
