She retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles, also worked at the Employment Security Division, and for the Sergeant Major at Grider Field during WWII.
An active volunteer, she served as a USO Hostess, the rationing board, PTA-Room Mother and as a substitute teacher. She counseled Junior Catholic Daughters of America, and worked at her church in Chicago and here in Pine Bluff at St. Joseph's. She Volunteered for VIPS and RSVP, was in the exercise classes at the Reynolds Center, and line danced at the Shepherd Center. She also belonged to Keen Agers and the Jefferson County Republican Committee, Red Cross Brain Teasers, and was a constant attendee at the Strachota Center. Her other activities included Junior Olympics, Horizon Club, AARP, Widows Group, Historical Museum and helped during elections counting absentee votes.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Edna Brenke; three brothers, Frank, Anthony, and Mark; a sister Marie; and husband, Edward Gustek.
She is survived by her son, Greg Gustek and daughter-in-law, Rhonda; along with numerous special friends. Her favorite thing was talking to little children and when some she didn't know would come up to her and hug her, she felt blessed.
The visitation will be at 10:00am, with services following at 11:00am on Thursday, December 26 at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Father Frank DuPreez and Deacon Noel F. "Bud" Bryant officiating. Obituary by
