FAIRBURY - The funeral of Alma L. Steidinger, 71, of Fairbury, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury. Ministers of the church will officiate.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, and for one hour before the service Thursday at the church.

She died at 6:42 a.m. Monday (Jan. 17, 2000) at her residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gateway Woods (Apostolic Christian Children's Home), P.O. Box 151, 14505 Klopfenstein Road, Leo, IN 46765.

Mrs. Steidinger was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Bern, Kan., the daughter of Eli and Emma Edelman Meyer. She married Maurice Steidinger on Dec. 16, 1956, in Sabetha, Kan. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Elaine (Dale) Mowery and Phyllis (Don) Welborn, both of Fairbury; and Janet (Todd) Sinn, Latty, Ohio; four sons, Randall (Dawn) Steidinger, Forrest; and Martin (Trish) Steidinger, Keith (Kristine) Steidinger and Douglas (Dixie) Steidinger, all of Fairbury; two brothers, Eli (Lois) Meyer, Sabetha, and Robert (Janet) Meyer, Bern; three sisters, Lois Meyer, Sabetha; Nadine (Charles) Edelman, Flasher, N.D.; and Mary Helen (Aaron) Neukomm, Cissna Park; 32 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter.

Also surviving is Ken (Darlene) Zapp, Fairbury, whom she thought of as a son.

Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Steidinger was a homemaker and seamstress, having made drapery for Walton's Department Store in Fairbury and had been employed at Steffen Garment Factory, Fairbury, for a number of years. She had been a resident of Fairbury area for 43 years.

She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury.
