Alma Jewell White, 100, of Rosebud, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011, in a Temple Nursing Center. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev. Wayne Stork officiating. Burial followed in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.
Mrs. White was born March 31, 1911 in the Jones Prairie community to Alma (Buck) and Mattie Lou Thrasher White. She attended school in Jones Prairie and graduated from High School in Maysville, OK in 1930. She married Ervin Phelps on August 29, 1930. He preceded her in death in 1949. She then was married to Gillis White on May 5, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She is survived by one brother, D.B. White, and a sister, Ruby Lynch.
Visitation was held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
