Joel Curry Greer Jr., 81 of Taneytown, MD died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Born March 2, 1930 in Rogersville, TN, he was the son of the late Joel C. Sr. and Beulah Cauldwell Greer. He was the husband of Joan Iglehart Greer of Taneytown, his wife of 58 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. His occupational endeavors included land developing, building and farming.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Joel Craig Greer of Baltimore and Michael Dorsey Greer of Taneytown, daughters Vickie Hatzes of Orange, VA, and Cheryl Mose of Phoenix, AZ, daughter-in-law Shelly Greer of Stevensville, sisters Joyce Deboy of Arbutus, Shirlee Schatz of Woodbine, and Patricia Siebert of Cumberland, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Ronald Curry Greer.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Marriottsville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
