Alice Siebels age 76, of Monticello, died Monday, March 20, 2006 at her home from complications of Alzheimers Disease. Funeral services will be held 10:30 Friday morning, March 24, 2006 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Thursday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. Rev. Charles Johnson will officiate at the services. Surviving is her husband , Ed Siebels, Monticello, 3 children, Ken Siebels, and Lois (Jeff) Tully, both of Monticello, Paul Siebels, Cedar Rapids, 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Lisa and Jennifer Tully. She was preceded in death by her Parents, a brother John and an infant daughter, Carol. Alice Wacker was born November 23, 1929 at White Lake, South Dakota. She was the daughter of John and Elsie Tjaden Wacker. Alice received her education in the Springville Community Schools where she graduated in 1947. While in school Alice worked in the Superintendents office. Following graduation she worked at the Springville Post Office. Alice Wacker and Ed Siebels were married February 10, 1949 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. The couple farmed the Siebels family farm in Castle Grove Township, now a Century Farm. The couple retired from farming and moved to Monticello in 1991. Alice had always been active in 4H. In her teens she was the Linn County 4H Queen and as an adult was a leader of the Prairiehill BeNaturals . She had also been a member of the Worth While Club and had been an active of S.S. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle before moving to Monticello.
