Madge Loper Pierson, 83, of Austin, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013, surrounded by her loving children. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013, in Rolling Oaks Memorial Park.
Madge was born in Clyde, Texas, to the late Jerry and Florence Loper. She grew up in Baird, Texas, and graduated from high school there, where she was a cheerleader and beauty queen. Madge retired as a state purchaser at Camp Mabry several years ago and enjoyed her retirement very much.
Madge is preceded in death by her oldest son, Ben; a grandson, Greg Hicks; brothers: Jerry, Stanley and Lee Loper; and a sister, Ruby Nell Freeman.
Survivors include her daughter, Katherine "Kitty" Hicks; son, Richard Pierson and his wife, Kathy; daughter-in-law, Becky Pierson; grandchildren: Luke Pierson, Lindsey Wilson, Evan Pierson, and Ashlie Morrison; great-grandchildren: Kaleigh Hicks, Garrett Hicks and David Heird; sisters, Cubelle Harris and Lee Anderson; brother, Aubrey Loper; many nieces and nephews; and her precious dog, Studley, who was by her side to the end.
