Stella Amis Glass 1897 - 1997

Services for Stella Amoris Amis Glass, 99, College Station, were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Hillier Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Terry D. Ray of First Baptist Church in Texas City, and Rev. Bob Richers of First United Methodist Church in Bryan officiating. Burial was in Bryan City Cemetery.

Mrs. Glass died Monday in Sherwood Health Care Center. She was born in Hunt County. She attended North Texas Slate Teachers College in Denton, and taught in Rains County schools for 11 years. She joined First Baptist Church when she moved to Bryan in 1935. She was a substitute teacher in Bryan elementary schools for 15 years. She retired from teaching in 1975 at the age of 78. She was a member of the TEL Sunday school class for many years. She was also a member of the Extension Service Club for over 60 years.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn G. and William M Warren of College Station; a son and daughter-in-law. Joe L. and Joncll Seale Glass of Texas City; a sister, Mrs. Loyd Neal of Bryan; a brother and sister-in-law, Judge J.A and Mozelle Amis of Bryan; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
