Viola Deal, age 92, of Bunker Hill, WVa. (formerly of Frostburg), died Monday, November 25, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Bunker Hill, W.Va. Born October 27, 1921 in Mount Savage, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Maurice and Susan Arvada (Hutzel) Winebrenner. She was married November 28, 1939 to James Harvey Deal, Sr., who died September 10, 1990.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Harvey Deal, Jr., and Eugene Richard Deal; a son-in-law, Herschel Lane Heavner; a great-grandson, Charles Edward Groves; and a great-great grandson, Nathan Allen Pryor.
Last of her immediate family, she was also preceded by her brothers and sisters, Lonnie Raymond Winebrenner, Myrtle Alzine Rice, Sarah Elizabeth Bowers, William Benjamin Winebrenner, James Hiram Winebrenner, John Walter Winebrenner, Delcie Louise Witt, Cyrus Samuel Winebrenner, Clinton Edward "Doc" Winebrenner, Susanna Trimble, Ralph Francis "Jake" Winebrenner, Elnora Winebrenner, Jessie Wesley Winebrenner and David Wilbert Winebrenner.

She did domestic work for several families in Frostburg and also in her church. Viola was a devoted homemaker, an excellent cook and baker who didn't need recipes or measuring spoons. She enjoyed a good laugh, solving word puzzles and playing games, especially Rummikub and Chinese checkers. Family was important to her, and she looked forward to the annual Winebrenner Reunions. She was a member of the Frostburg Church of the Nazarene and the "elite 90's group" at the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Juanita Mae Heavner of Bunker Hill, W.Va. who was her special care giver; three sons, David William Deal and wife, Mary of Manchester, Md.; Earnest Edward Deal and wife, Mary Ann of Oil City, Pa.; Harold Raymond Deal of Chambersburg, Pa.; and a daughter-in-law, Grace A. Deal of Cumberland, Md.; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Friday, November 29, 2013, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Frostburg Church of the Nazarene, 150 Center St. with Rev. Timothy Smith and Rev. Galen Winebrenner officiating.

Burial will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
