On April 11, 1940, Albert & Alta, ages 28 & 27, were renting a home in Seneca, Newton Co, MO.
Alta's father died on May 20, 1940. His obituary was published in the Joplin Globe on May 21, 1940.
"Alexander M'GeHee, Of Near Seneca, Dies
Seneca, Mo., May 20. - Alexander Henderson McGehee, 53 years old, died at 7 o'clock last night at his home, three miles north of her.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Jack McGehee, at home, and Ralph McGehee of Seneca; five daughters, Mrs. Clara Sherwood, Mrs. Alta Blevins and Mrs. Lena Terry, all of Seneca, and Eleanor and Vivian McGehee, at home; two brothers, Riley and Gran McGehee, both of Chesapeake, Mo.; tow sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Mosby of Aurora and Mrs. H.L. Allen of Prairie Grove, Ark., and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Seneca Mission church. The Rev. Tisa Tabor will officiate. Burial will be in Seneca cemetery.
The Chase funeral home is in charge of burial arrangements."
