She was born September 4, 1917, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Robert Conner and Lena Miller Conner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman C. Whiteside; and one daughter, Nancy W. Dame.
Mrs. Whiteside was a member of the Broad Creek A.R.P. Church, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are one grandson, Terry W. Dame and his wife, Christy; her three great-grandchildren, Tiffany B. Dame, Seth M. Dame and his fiance, and Colton B. Dame; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Dakota and Kayla; and close friend, Jean Moore.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.W. Swisher officiating.
Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
