Brown, Maryetta (August 9, 1845-November 30, 1921)

Mrs. Theodore Brown passed away at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 1921, at her home in the Town of Weston. She died of heart trouble. Maryetta Ransom was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Ransom, August 9, 1845, at Sandusky, Ohio. She came with her parents to Fond du Lac, Wis., in 1854.

She was married to Theodore Brown in the Town of Auburn, Fond du Lac Co February 14, 1866. They went to Michigan in 1868. Seven years later they came to the Town of Weston, Clark County, where they have resided ever since. She was the mother of ten children: Mrs. Reuben (Estella) Wilson and Edward died several years ago. The rest are left to comfort their aged father. They are: Mrs. Henry (Alice) Sischo, Rapid City, Mich.; Mrs. Luella Kaudy, Carlson, Mich.; Clarence of Gladstone, Mich.,; and Lewis, Elmer, Ellis, Roscoe and Mrs. Len (Ethel) Boon, all of the Town of Weston; also twenty-six grandchildren, besides several great-grandchildren, and a brother, William Ransom, of Black River Falls, Wis. All her children and brother were with her before she passed away. She was a kind and loving mother, and highly respected by all who knew her. The funeral was held Saturday, December 3, at the Christie Methodist Church, and she was laid to rest in the Christie Cemetery.
