Mr. Bridger was a lawyer and judge, including serving two terms as Parish Judge. He served as a captain and major in the Civil War.

He was the son of Ingadozier Cash Bridger and Frances Amanda Brinton, who married on September 27, 1832 in Claiborne Co., MS. He married his first wife, Mary Frances Redditt, on October 30, 1956 in Caldwell Parish. After her death in 1870, he married Sarah Frances "Fannie" Stuart in May 1871 in Caldwell Parish.
