Rosie Denham, 85, died at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Jersey Community Hospital. Born July 23, 1920, in Fieldon, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Belle (Smith) Scott. She married Virgal Denham Sr. in Jerseyville. He died in 1965. She was a homemaker. Surviving are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles Denham of Jerseyville, Donald and Rita Denham of Molten, Ala., and Kenny Denham of Jerseyville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Loretta and Neal "Bink" Feyerbend of Kingston, Ga., and Susie Cox of Murrayville, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie Walters; two sons, Virgal Denham Jr. and Floyd Denham; four grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Lyming and Tacy Freand; and six brothers, Clarence, Herb, John, Jim, Charles and Steve Scott. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Jon Lorch officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be made to Jersey County Relay for Life.
