Amy Eileen (Gould) Schrader was born June 1, 1920 in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Leon and Alice (Anderson) Gould. Amy attended country schools in Eckles Township and the Three Island Lake School. She lived and worked for a time in Milwaukee, WI and later returned to Bemidji where on May 29, 1948, she married the love of her life, Hubert Schrader at her parent's home on Fox Lake. The couple made their home north of Bemidji on Three Island Lake. Amy worked for Bemidji Woolen Mills and Minnesota Woods Products. Following the death of her husband in 1973, Amy moved to Independence, MO to care for three of her elderly aunts. She continued to make her home in Missouri until 2005 when she moved back to her hometown of Bemidji to live with her niece and husband, Leah and Doug Ferrier. In 2009, she moved to Homefront Assisted Living Facility and continued to reside there until the time of her death.

Though Amy and Hubert did not have children of their own, they were blessed to share in the lives of many nieces and nephews who were their children. Amy always took a passionate interest in the lives and activities of her family. Her greatest passion however was her love for God and her church. She was baptized and confirmed in the Church of Christ T.L. – Bemidji local and remained a faithful and active member until her death. She served as a Sunday School teacher, church musician, wrote for the church newspaper as well as being chairperson of the dining hall committee of the church during annual church conferences while she lived in Independence, Missouri. Amy enjoyed traveling, gardening, and camping. She and Hubert enjoyed many camping vacations and Amy continued to enjoy short camping trips with family members even in later years. She was always an eager participant in any family activity. She was a talented seamstress, sewing not only for herself, but for many of her family members. She created and sewed wedding dresses for many of her nieces.

She is survived by one sister, Helen Taubert, of Pasadena, TX, a brother, Donovan Gould of Bemidji, MN and many nieces and nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
