Celebrated Old Time Fiddler and Show Stealer played his last song on December 19, 2012.

Fred Lewis Johnson, age 85, was a local celebrity, who loved to play his guitar, harmonica (sometimes at the same time), and fiddle for anyone who would listen. He performed as a service with the "Don't Quit Your Day Job Band" for nursing homes, community events, fiddle contests and every family gathering. Fred was loved by everyone who knew him and his legacy and love of music will be cherished by many for years to come.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a volunteer firefighter with the Spanish Fork Fire Department for 10-plus years. He was also an active member of the LDS Church.

Fred was born December 30, 1926 to Juanita and Frank Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Faye B. Johnson; his children: Clyde (Sue) Johnson, Rusty (Pam) Johnson, Randy (Theresa) Johnson, Kevin (Nan) Johnson, Mark Johnson, and Marla (Steve) Adams; 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; siblings: Marvin (Carma) Johnson, David (June) Johnson, and Janet Rees.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children and their spouses: Fred (Sandra) Johnson and Karen Johnson (Gary) Allred; three grandkids: Cory Stringer, Kelly Barney, and Hefa Tuita; two great-grandchildren: Nicholas Johnson and Whitney Johnson: two brothers, Jay and Melvin; three sisters: Geraldine, Ione, and Dianna.

Funeral services will be held December 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Mapleton 19th Ward Church, 1068 South Highway 89, Mapleton, Utah . Friends and family may call Wednesday evening, December 26, 2012 at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork; and on Thursday morning at the church from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
