Ernest "Jack" Sublett was born May 26, 1910 in Nolan County, Texas to George Mason and Pearl Headrick Sublett. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons College in 1931 and started his teaching career in Ballinger and Brownwood, Texas. In 1942, he moved to Abilene and was a long time Speech and Drama Teacher at Abilene High School.

In the 1960's, Jack became an instructor at McMurry College.

He never married and died on Nov. 5, 1982 in Abilene, Texas at the Bur-Mont Nursing Center from the effects of a Stroke and Congestive heart failure.
