ARTICLE: Mrs. Lee Does Not Recover From Her Broken Thigh--

"Grandma" Mary Lee is critically ill at her home on East Alta Street and is not expected to live. About a month ago, Mrs. Lee, who is over 80 years of age, fell from the porch and broke her thigh. The fracture will not knit owing to the advanced age of the sufferer, and for the past two days she has been unconscious, so that death is expected at any time.

Mrs. Lee is one of the oldest residents of Pendleton, having come here almost before there was a town. She is now the oldest member in the Methodist Church of this place, and a large and sincere circle of friends will be grieved to hear of her serious condition.

OBIT:

Mrs. Mary Lee of whom mention has been made several times of late on account of her precarious condition since having her thigh broken April 1, died at her home at 415 West Alta Street, Saturday night of old age, her death being hastened by the accident mentioned.

Mrs. Lee was 80 years and 23 days old and was born in New York in April 1824. With her family she came to Oregon in 1862 and to Umatilla County in 1868 where she resided continuously until her death. Her immediate relatives residing in this place are a son L. H. Lee and a daughter Mrs. Amy Lee.

The funeral was held at the Thompson Street Methodist Church at 10 o'clock this morning conducted by Rev. Robert Warner and the interment was made in the Olney Cemetery.
