David Baker, 57 years old, of Joplin route 4 (near Hornet Missouri), was dead on arrival at Freeman hospital at 7:45 o'clock Saturday night. He was brought to the hospital in an American ambulance after suffering a heart attack in his home.
Mr. Baker was born April 26, 1903, at Lexington, Missouri, had lived in the area for 12 years and had been a driver for Yellow Transit Co. for 8 years. He retired in 1956 and had been ill for two years.
Mr. Baker is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fontella Bullington Baker. They were married in 1951.
Mrs. Baker will be at the home of a sister, Mrs. Lloyd McDaniel, 2701 Rolla in Joplin.
