Mrs. Elsie E. Baker, 78, 117 1/2 E. Fifth St., died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday [sic] in Memorial Hospital. She had been hospitalized for five days.
Born Feb. 3, 1892 in Allen Township, she was the daughter of Madison and Josephine (Thomas) Spain. She had lived in Union County all her life. She married Artist Ray Baker on Dec. 2, 1916, he died in 1922 [sic].
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Reed, Milford Center, Mrs. Herman Allen, Columbus; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Spain.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Poste-Hale Funeral Home with the Rev. James Christy officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
