Funeral services were held Sat. for William Farley Gorin, who died at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital Thurs 22 Aug [1960] after a short illness. Services were conducted by the Rev. Walter Swetnam at the Foster-Jones Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in the Red Hill Cem. at Hodgenville.
The son of Henry Franklin and Emma Dearin Gorin, he was born in Green Co. on 14 Oct 1894. He was married to the former Anna B. Slaughter of Hodgenville who died in 1931. He was a member of the (now disbanded) Hodgenville Presbyterian Church. As rural mail-carrier, he had lived at Sonora Ky. for many years and moved to Greensburg after retirement.
Surviving are 2 sister, Mrs. (Rowena) Thomas Albert Hodges of Louisville and Miss Kathleen Gorin of Atlanta, Ga; and 1 brother, H.H. Gorin of Greensburg. Pallbearers were Harold Gorin, T.J. Gorin Jr., Allen Gorin, Woodson Turner, Bill Gorin and Walt Gorin.
