Robert E. Maynard, 81, of 724 E. Bradford, Marion, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998 at his residence.

He was born Sept. 2, 1916 at Shirley, IN to Alva and Ethel K. (Hendrix) Maynard. He is survived by his wife, Frances P. Maynard.

He was a life resident of Marion. He retired in 1980 from RCA after 31 years employment. He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church, Barbee Conservation Club, and RCA Sympathy Club. He was the 38th State Champion of Golden Gloves. He was a previous business manager of IBEW Local #1160 of RCA.

In addition to his wife, Frances P., he is survived by three daughters - Earlene K. (Mrs. Don) Wehunt, and Debra L. (Mrs. Jeff) Wagner, both of Marion, IN, and Rita D. Maynard of Muncie, IN; three sons - James W. (Rosemary) Stone of Marion, Stephen P. (Janice) Maynard of Sweetser, IN, and Brian R. (Elizabeth) Maynard of Decatur, IN; a brother, John (Beatrice) Maynard of Marion, IN; a sister, Florence Brunka of Hemet, CA; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Robert Earl Maynard Jr.

Memorials may be made to either Community Hospice of Visiting Nurse Association of North Central Indiana or charity of Donor's choice. A liturgical wake was held Friday, Jan. 9, at the Needham-Storey North Chapel of Marion, IN. Funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998 at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. C. Alan Funk officiating. #Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Gas City, IN.
