Mildred M. O'Meara, 77, 702 Highland, died Jan. 25 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
The Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Karl Holtkamp officiating. prayers for a Christian Wake will be tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. O'Meara was born Nov. 8, 1901 in Jefferson County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Ida Mae Lorimor (sic) Allender. She was reared and educated in Jefferson County. She graduated from Fairfield High School and the University of Iowa School of Nursing.
Her marriage to James O'Meara took place Sept. 2, 1925 in Iowa City. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and Lionels.
She is survived by her husband; four children, Sister Kathryn O'Meara, Ottumwa Heights College, Ottumwa, James William O'Meara, Corpus Christi Abbey, Sandia, Texas, Thomas Allender O'Meara, Gamaliel, Ark., and Jane M. M, Fairfax, Va.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel M. Bates, Fairfield and Edna Lawrence, Spencer.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
