She was born May 22, 1913, in Greenville. She attended school at Estacado then moved to Idalou in the 1930s. She married Edgar Mike Courtney on Oct. 27, 1934, in Lubbock County. He preceded her in death in 1968.
She retired from St. Mary's Hospital in 1975 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idalou.
Survivors include two sons, David and Raymond; a sister, Dorothy Parks; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
