He died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Lubbock.
He was born Jan. 15, 1948, in Lubbock. He graduated from Idalou High School in 1966. He attended Lubbock Christian University for two years while still in Idalou. He then moved to Lubbock in 1969 to attend Texas Tech. He graduated from Tech with a bachelor's degree in anthropology in 1972 and received a master's degree from Tech in sociology in 1978. He was a computer operator for Stuller Engineering before retiring in 1985.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Franklin Emery in 1981.
Survivors include his parents, Lee P. and Laura, both of Idalou; two brothers, Neil of Terrell County and Ted of Hart; and several nieces and nephews.
