On the 1910 Lexington, VA census, I found corporation court judge WILLIAM P. Houston, 66, married 34 years to wife Hannah M., 70, she had no children, both VA born. They live on White Street near photographer Michael Miley.
He graduated from Washington & Lee University. His father Rev. Saml Houston did also and was appointed as a Trustee in 1791 and vacated office in 1826. He was a CSA Lieutenant Artillery, Hon. Wm. P. Houston, was the Judge of the County Court of Rockbridge County, VA. In 1892, Judge Houston printed and circulated his 16 page compilation called the Rockbridge County, Va, Paxtons. (Wm McClung Paxton's The Paxtons: Their Origin in Scotland, and Their Migrations Through England ...We Are One, Platte City, MO, 1903.)
