Allen A. Konrath age 84 of Allenton died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Cedar Ridge. He was born June 30, 1929 to Joseph and Loretta (nee Ruf) Konrath in Milwaukee. They moved to Allenton shortly after his birth.

Allen graduated from West Bend High School in 1947 and worked as a painter until he was inducted in the U.S Army. He proudly served his country in the Korean War. Upon his return he married Margaret Moser on July 25, 1953 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Nenno. He started Konrath Painting and Riveredge Laundry.

He was very involved in the Allenton community. Allen served on the initial Allenton Sanitary Commission and was a member of the Allenton Area Advancement Association. He was a very active member of the Fohl-Martin Post 483 American Legion in Allenton and was a long time member of the Allenton Fire Department, serving as the fire chief from 1962 until 1979.

Allen had a dear love of John Deere tractors and enjoyed making maple syrup.

Allen is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret, 6 children: Gary (Carrie) Konrath, Paul (Roxanne) Konrath, Jeff Konrath, Cheryl (Steve) Vogt, Steve (Carol) Konrath and Andrew Konrath, 6 grandchildren: Kristen (Jason) Heinecke, Jamie (Martin Jr.) Harris, Katalin Vogt, Jared Vogt, Garrett Konrath and Carlene Konrath and 3 great-grandchildren: Breanne and Bristol Harris and Ashley Heinecke. He is further survived by his brother Lloyd (Patricia) Konrath, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Konrath, Delores Bodden, Veronica Gindt and Mary Rose Thull and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Loretta Konrath, twin sons at birth, his sister Annabelle (Vincent) Moser, his brother Hubert Konrath and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Victor (Cyrilla) Moser, Valeria (Ewald) Wolf, Leo Bodden, Gilbert (Lucina) Moser, Gilbert Gindt, Clarice (Herman) Theisen, Edmund Thull and Janet Moser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 29, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Allenton with Rev. Richard Stoffel presiding. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The visitation will be Friday, at the church only from 10:00 A.M. until 1:15 p.m.

Allen was grateful to have participated in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight three weeks ago. We ask that in lieu of flowers you please consider making a memorial donation to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in Allen's name so others can enjoy this wonderful trip.
