Elvira Damron married Hall Whitaker 26 Jan 1832. Elvira was the daughter of Capt. John Damron Sr. and his 2nd wife, Cynthia Thompson. She had six known siblings plus the 13 half-siblings from her father's first marriage to Anne Ladd. Elvira and Hall had six known children: Capt. Mark, Anna Adeline, Virginia Angeline, William Henry, Mary 'Polly' and John A. Whitaker. Elvira's husband, Hall, died 1 Mar 1844 and was laid to rest in Drake Cemetery, New Burnside, Illinois. She never remarried and cherished his memory for 44 years until her death 10 Mar 1888. Elvira was laid to rest beside Hall in Drake Cemetery.
