UNION BEACH Antoinette Caruso, 82, passed away suddenly on December 23, 2009, at her home. She was a communicant at Holy Family Church, member of Union Beach Senior Club and Holy Family Golden Age Club. She was born on September 3, 1927 in Jersey City. Born in Jersey City she was raised and lived there most of her life until moving to Union Beach in 2001. Antoinette retired in 1999 as an administrative secretary for the Fine Arts and Modern Language Departments at St. Peter's College in Jersey City. She loved gardening in her flower garden and her trips to Atlantic City. She was predeceased by her parents, Emilio and Emily Minella Baratta; her siblings, Anna and Philip Baratta; and her beloved husband of 46 years, Gaetano in 2003. Antoniette is survived by her dear sister and best friend Edith Baratta, of Union Beach; her children, Gail Meyer and her husband William, of Hazlet, Guy Caruso and his wife Silvia, of Maplewood, Joseph Caruso, of Union Beach; and her cherished grandchildren, Billy, Gerard and Jason Meyer, Alexis and Emma Caruso. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in her honor on Monday, at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family R.C. Church, 727 Highway 36 in Union Beach, New Jersey 07735. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
