Nancy Zulema Egbert, 85 passed away November 21, 2013. A resident of the Homestead assisted Living Center in Rexburg, Idaho.

Nancy was born August 19, 1928 in Bartlett, Kansas. She was the 5th of 9 children born to Wesley Clay and Cora Ethel Halbert. She attended elementary school there. Her family moved to Murtaugh Idaho in the late 1930s.

Nancy married her high school sweetheart and neighbor Rulon Burl Egbert May 27, 1946 in Murtaugh. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived on the family farm in Murtaugh. Later they moved to Connell Washington to participate in the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project. Nancy and Burl worked hard side by side on their farm for the next 27 years.

Nancy and Burl retired to St. George Utah. They made great friends and memories as they traveled around the world. In 2007 they moved to Rexburg Idaho to be close to family. Her husband passed away Feb. 8, 2013.

Nancy will be remembered most for her love of shopping, sewing, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her two sons Sid (Barbara) Egbert of Lehi, UT.; Dan (Cindi) Egbert of Connell, WA; and one daughter Lisa (Kurt) Papenfuss of Rexburg, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with one on the way. She also is survived by a sister, Emma of Twin Falls, Idaho and a brother Norman of Meridian, Idaho. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and a granddaughter.

A special thanks to the staff of the Homestead Assisted lIving Center, Rexburg Home Health and Hospice, and special friends from the Valley View Ward for loving care in her last days.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday November 25, 2013 at 11 am in the Valley View LDS Church with Bishop Mark Nye, officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery under the direction of the Bidwell Funeral Home.
