Curl Slaven, 78, of Rt. 1 Oneida, passed away in the Scott County Hospital Wednesday February 2, he was the son of the late James Harve Slaven and the late Sarah Pennington Slaven, a member of the Penticost Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Nora Slaven of Rt. 1, Oneida, Son: Warren Slaven of Oneida, two daughters: Ellen Lay and Vilda Sexton both of Oneida, two brothers: Ike Slaven and Ed Slaven both of Jamestown, Tenn., Two sisters: Bertha Allen and Vivian Hicks both of Muncie, Indiana, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death, he also leaves eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the West Funeral Home Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday, February 5, with Rev. Obis Byrd and Rev. Gilbert Phillips officiating. Burial in the West Cemetery.
