August Beyersdorf was born in January 1862 in Germany. He immigrated to America about 1885 (naturalized citizen 1906). He married Augusta E Anklam November 11, 1899 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marion, Wisconsin. The couple farmed in the Town of Wyoming. Prior to Augusta's death the family moved to the Town of Fairbanks. They had 12 children: Martha (Emil) Marquardt, Albert, Ida (Charles) Schwede, Otto (m. Emma Lembke), Henry, Sophia (Louis) Redman, Mary (Arnold) Wendt, Anna Schroeder, Alma (Fred) Schlender, Paul and Meta. August died on December 30, 1925, in Shawano, Wisconsin, at the age of 63. His youngest child Meta (d. 1922) was only ten and his wife Augusta died five years prior. The couple are buried on Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Split Rock.
