1J3B2D8: "Jeremiah Ratcliff, b. Eagle Twp., Hocking Co., 15 July 1826, d. Waynesville, MO., 1 Mar 1863, in camp during the Civil War of measles and complications. It is said that his brothers, John C. & Robert drove a team & wagon to camp to return his body to Morgan Co., for burial, Married in Morgan Co., 6 Apr 1848 to Nancy Kelsay, probably a dau of James & Jane Kelsay. Nancy is buried at the Kelsay Family Cemetery since there is a marker there that has all but disappeared into the ground, with only the word "Nancy" above ground and visible."
Nancy died on 8 February 1849, possibly as the result of the birth of daughter, Mary 1849-1865. Jeremiah, m. (2) Mary Jane Calvert on 1 March 1851. (no additional information). Jeremiah married (3) Charlotte Ann Goodwin, 1 February 1855. One son, Frank, and three daughters, Mildred, Elizabeth, and Sarah Virginia were born to Jeremiah and Charlotte Ann. Jeremiah died 1 March 1863.
