Mary Enright Tierney was the daughter of Michael Enright and Catherine Normile, born in Glin, County Limerick, Ireland. She immigrated to the US with her mother and 3 brothers sometime about 1847/49, settling in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

ORAL history passed down from John Henry Enright (1867-1942), Mary's nephew:
He had an Aunt Mary who married a William Tierney.
This matches with the Pittsfield, Mass., marriage records.
Mary had three brothers, Thomas, Michael and John. Mary was 19 when she married, and this just two months before her brothers married ... 22 year old Thomas (married on February 17, 1852) and 20 year old Michael Enright (married on February 23, 1852).
The children listed for Mary Enright Tierney are also part of the oral history given by her nephew John Henry Enright. Mary's children were: David, Michael, Thomas, Besse, Anne and Willie.
In the 1860 U.S. Census for Pittsfield, there is Mary Tierney and William Tierney living with 8 year old David and 2 year old Michael AND with Catherine [Normile] "Enwright" age 56. That is Mary's mother of course. Interestingly Mary, William and Catherine are all listed as not able to read or write.
Mary Enright Tierney must've died before 1880, since her husband William Tierney is a widower in that U.S. Census.
