Joseph Henry Cramer was born on August 1, 1910 in Camden County, New Jersey, the son of John Cramer (1880–1961) and Anna (Gibbs) Cramer (1886–1918).

He was married 1st to Ruth M Mackin (1911–1999), and he was married 2nd about 1959 to Marie Edna (Weatherholtz) Tappan (1921–2005), the daughter of Carl Benton Weatherholtz (1892–1960) and Edna Virginia (Short) Weatherholtz (1898–1962).

Joseph was living at 841 Glendale Drive in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee and was a member of the Episcopal church and a retired United Rubber Workers Union district director.

He was 72 years old and married when he passed away on November 20, 1982 at Clarksville Memorial Hospital.

Survivors included his widow Marie Weatherholtz Cramer, son Joseph H Cramer Jr in New Brunswick, New Jersey, brother Ordneir Cramer and sister Edna Green, both of Camden, New Jersey and three grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on November 23rd at the chapel of Tarpley Funeral Home, and burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Clarksville.
