DEATH ROLL
Clarence M. Manon, 81, lifelong resident of South Franklin township, died Monday morning at 9:50 o'clock, Feb. 26, 1940, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Effa B. Morrison, 128 W. Wheeling street, Washington, of pneumonia.
Mr. Manon was born April 25, 1858, a son of William A. and Hannah Chadwick Manon, and spent his life farming in South Franklin township. He was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian church. In September of 1881 he was united in marriage with Martha A. Patterson, who preceded him in death nine years ago.
Surviving are one brother, Dr. J. W. Manon of Charleroi; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes McCarrell of Prosperity, and Mrs. Etta Ingram of Wadesboro, N.C., and nine sons and daughers: W. B. Manon of Claysville; Effa B. Morrison of Washington; J. Harper Manon of Prosperity; Merle G. Manon of Washington R D 6; Dr. Herve C. Mannon of Washington; Sara C. Bell of Laboratory; Cynthia M. Ross of Washington; Frank C. Manon of Federal, and Don P. Manon of Claysville. Also surviving are 26 grand-children and 11 great grandchildren. Another daughter, Permelia, died 23 years ago.
Friends will be received at the A. Blaine Day Funeral Home in Jefferson avenue, Washington after 12 o'clock noon today. Funeral services will be held there Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. J. Calvin French of Prosperity. Burial will be in the Prosperity Cemetery.
