Tom was the first child born to Lillie Marie Tomlinson Brock and William Elmer Brock on October 23, 1911 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Central High School. He went to the University of Texas in Austin and later served in the US Army during World War II. He married Dorothy Louise Jones on August 3, 1933 at the First Christian Church in Fort Worth, Texas. They had two children; Barbara Ann Brock 06/11/34 and Tom E. Brock, Jr. 07/27/50. He was a home builder in Fort Worth and was instrumental in the development of Monticello, Crestwood and Ridglea Hills among other additions in Fort Worth. He sustained a brain injury on May 13, 1973 and never fully recovered. He died on May 8, 1985 in the VA Hospital in Temple, Texas. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
