Michael Daren McEwan A Legacy of Unconditional Love Mike was a light in the life of all those that knew him. His open arms, contagious smile and his zest for life inspired people to not take any moment for granted. He treated each experience as a precious gift and perfected the dance we call life. Mike's compassionate heart was a reflection of Christ's unconditional love. His undying devotion to the love of his life and the family they created will live forever and serve as an example to all. Mike, our daddy, passed away peacefully in his home March 11, 2007 surrounded by his loved ones.
He is survived by his soul mate, Nancy, his beautiful wife of 32 years who he often referred to as "Nanc Romanc"; his children "Lee Lee" Alishia; "Baby Girl" Summer (Chad) Peterson; "Chewy" Matthew (Stacey); his soon to be first grandchild Cameron Michael ; his mother Arylene; and one brother and three sisters.
Mike is preceded in death by his father Willard, brother Timothy, and his mother-in-law Eileen. Our family would like to thank Frank, Lance, Blake and all those at Superior Roofing where Mike dedicated 30 years to the job he loved. Mike's philosophy was, "You work hard to play hard." Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More, 3015 East Creek Rd., Sandy, where a viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friends may also call upon the family at the church on Wednesday, March 14th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. where the Vigil Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Interment to follow the funeral at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights. Arrangements entrusted to Starks Funeral Parlor. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation for the benefit of Mike's daughter Alishia through Nancy McEwan.
