Arlyne Bytheway McEwan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2012.

Born to Thelma Jones and Edward Kendrick Bytheway on April 6, 1925 in Salt Lake City. She married Willard Pixton McEwan on December 26, 1944. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple just days later and a day prior to Willard's departure for Europe to serve in World War II for two years. Upon Willard's return from Europe, they raised a family of six children together.

Her greatest joy in life was her family whom she dearly loved. Her posterity includes six children, 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Arlyne loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and had great faith in the Plan of Salvation. We are comforted to know that she has returned home to her Savior and reunited with her eternal companion and many loved ones including two sons who have gone before her. Arlyne was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing whenever she had the chance. She spent many years singing with the Schubert Singers and we will always remember her amazing voice.

Arlyne is survived by her children: Laraine (Joe) Broschinsky, Alan (Kathi) McEwan, Diane (Mike) Schone, Kristine (Mike) Holmes; daughter-in-law Nancy McEwan; two sisters, Norma Trimble and Bonnie Miller; her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband and two sons: Michael Daren McEwan (Nancy) and Timothy Kevin McEwan; daughter-in-law Diane Wagstaff McEwan (Alan).

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the River Ridge Stake Center, 10190 South 1000 West, South Jordan, UT.
