FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Susan C. Vanselow, 71, formerly of Springfield, Ill., died Monday evening, Oct. 21, 2013.

Born July 30, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., to Lee and Fannie Curby, both of whom preceded her in death, she spent her entire career as a teacher in the Rochester/Chatham school districts.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at St. James' Episcopal Church, Eureka Springs, Ark. A memorial service is anticipated later in Springfield.

Survivors include husband, David Vanselow of Holiday Island, Ark.; two sons, Matthew (Paulina) of Marietta, Ga., and Jason Vanselow of Springfield, Ill.; sisters, Carolyn Halford (Richard) of Glenarm, Ill., and Joanne Curby of Santa Cruz, Calif.; brother, Karl Curby (Barbara) of Glenarm, Ill.; granddaughter, Sophia Elise Vanselow of Marietta, Ga.; nieces, Lisa and Jennifer Vanselow of Palatine, Ill., and Barbara Hedinger of Glenarm, Ill.; and nephews, Lee and Ben Curby of Hayden, Colo., John Halford of Glenarm, Ill., and David Shipley of Charlotte, N.C.
